About The EV Charging Course

This course is a one day, EAL accredited level 3 award which covers the requirements for the installation of electric vehicle charging (EAL 603/3929/9). It follows the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation & BS 7671.

The course will cover the requirements of BS7671 with regards to the new section on electrical vehicle charging points, discussing how the electrical supply can be delivered from both private and public supplies. By the end of the course you will understand how to install these points in compliance with BS7671.

Rolec Certification

You will become familiar with Rolec equipment, Britain’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging point manufacturer, and obtain a Rolec certificate as well as an EAL certificate.

These certificates enable successful candidates to install electric vehicle charging points and apply for the OLEV funding, enabling a grant of £350 for each installation.

You must be at least 18 years old to sit this course.

• You should be conversant with the relevant wiring regulations, and initial verification and commissioning, demonstrated by holding relevant qualifications in BS 7671, and inspection and testing.

• You are expected to have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.
